In the middle of the American desert, U.S.S. LAB, a scientific research center, is conducting complex experiments on human subjects under the authority of the U.S. Army. After wreaking havoc at the lab, eight-year-old Thorn goes in search of food and shelter. Harold, an honest retiree, single and childless, takes him in. At Harold’s, Thorn discovers a very different lifestyle from what he knew at the lab and it takes some getting used to. With the help of a former member of the G.E.N.O.M.E. Project, Thorn tries to figure out who he is and why he is in danger. He constantly feels torn between wanting a normal childhood and rising up to the responsibilities that come with his great powers.
